"The Cour de Loges is definitely the place to stay in Lyon if you want to get a sense of history. Opened in 1987, it is based on a series of 16th century houses which later became a monastery. What is nice is that so much of the original structure has been preserved, with a maze of little spiral staircases and courtyards popping up as you wander around the boutique hotel. There is even a small indoor swimming pool and some very pretty roof gardens. Concierge Gerard Ravet is truly superb, and has won several awards. We stayed in room 59 this time, which was an attractive corner room with large windows and a very comfortable bed.
