Restaurant Review - Toffs

This is a straight chippie, nothing fancy, but just go in and order the haddock and chips.  The chips could be improved upon but the haddock cannot.  It is freshly prepared and with superb batter (sadly not as good on my most recent visit).  The tartar sauce is home made, and even the pickled cucumbers are excellent.  There is a friendly and casual atmosphere.  This won an award for best fish and chip shop in the UK many years ago, and if you try this you will see why.  It has to be said that on my most recent visit the fish batter was less good than I recall, though the haddock itself was still excellent.
