This fun neighbourhood café had become a bit of a victim of its own success. It serves honest to goodness food, specialising in hams, though the jambalaya is actually very capable. Sadly though, it has now reached the tourist guides, and there are very long queues for lunch. Pleasant, but not really worth a long wait for.

Yes the lines are long, particularly during points of high tourist season (Mardi Gras / Jazz Fest). That stated, the food is exceptionally good, and their prices, exceptionally reasonable. They boast about having the world's best ham; and having tried it I can honestly say that if it's not the worlds best, it's the best in the USA. I highly recommend the simple Po-Boy sandwich. If you have not had debris before (au jus + bits), you'll definitely want to try it.
