In May 2007 the Thai Bistro closed. Budsara opened in its place.  The brief review below is for historical interest only.  It was 11/20 level.

The Thai bistro is a reliable neighbourhood restaurant. There is communal bench seating, so this is not the place for a romantic dinner, but the standard of cooking is a cut above the decor of the norm. The menu goes beyond the Thai classics to various regional dishes, and there is a complete vegetarian menu. Tom yum goong featured a correct blend of spices together with tender prawns. Red curry is normally served with pork or chicken, but if you ask they will also do it with prawns – again, authentic spices with carefully cooked vegetables. The kitchen was not generous with the base ingredients in its dishes, tending to use a lot of vegetables to fill out many of the dishes with meat or prawns, but the vegetables were fresh and very lightly cooked. Rice was light, pad Thai noodles excellent. The fish with tamarind sauce was a particular favourite of mine, and the spicy salads were done well. Service was friendly and efficient.
