From Regent Street to Surbiton
Saturday, October 17th , 2026

Milos is a lavishly decorated seafood restaurant at the bottom of Regent Street. It is a large place spread over two floors, with a fish counter as a centrepiece where the catch of the day is displayed on ice. Milos has a reputation for ambitious pricing, but also has a quite modestly priced set lunch, which is what we opted for. The food was good, with nicely cooked sea bream and also excellent mushroom risotto.
Koyal in Surbiton serves the best Indian food in London, bar none. At my latest visit we had some tried and tested favourites, such as superb wild boar vindaloo and methi chicken, while the tandoori dishes were as good as ever. This is something of a journey from central London but is well worth the excursion.
