From Marlow to Piccadilly

I went back to The Ritz, whose dining room has temporarily moved due to the massive multi-year refurbishment of the hotel that is currently underway. The new room has a large skylight providing excellent natural light, and is about the same size as the original, which the restaurant will move back to after the building work is completed. The cooking is unaffected, as demonstrated with a fine meal at my last visit. All the old favourites like the langoustines a la nage were on form, and there was a superb new scallop dish.
I had a less successful revisit to Sindhu in Marlow, which I recall being quite competent. The latest meal was erratic and disappointing, and far from cheap. The cabbage and bean thoran was a particularly sad dish.
