From Hammersmith to, er Hammersmith Bridge

The Salutation is a historic pub in Hammersmith that now serves Thai food to a mostly Thai clientele. There are no spice compromises here and the cooking is authentic. The price of the dishes is very fair, a rare thing in this day and age. There is a clutch of quite good Thai restaurants in the Hammersmith area but this is my favourite.

Sam’s Riverside has an attractive setting near Hammersmith Bridge. The large premises are attractive and the menu is appealing. At my latest meal here the cooking was a little erratic, with a disappointing coq au vin but genuinely excellent crab souffle. Still, overall this was a very pleasant experience
